There are just a few things you should know about us, so here goes:
We are a creative arts space.
Based out of Dallas, Texas, we are a creative arts space that gives people a place where they can come to create. Essentially, Self Governed is a space where there's no judgement, no ceiling, no floor, no borders...where people can express themselves freely. This is the reason why we created the idea that developed into what is now Self Governed Art Gallery.
We aren't your typical art gallery.
What does that even mean, you ask? Well, you probably have a certain picture in your mind of a "typical" art gallery experience, right? Pristine white walls, "price upon request" labeled artwork roped off with a sign saying "Don't Touch", hushed, whispered conversations...you get the idea.. We are the opposite of that...
We want to change the art gallery experience to be more entertaining, relevant, and personable by combining the elements of music, fashion, art and shopping all into one. We aim to provide a setting where anyone is welcome to come enjoy the art world and be inspired in an enjoyable, friendly environment.
Instead of only selling extremely expensive art pieces, we sell a variety of products at a range of prices. We feature art, fashion and novelty pieces that are original, trendsetting and made in studio, with the purpose of creating a completely new kind of art gallery experience. We want to create a more engaging, hands on approach to viewing art and inspire our customers through the products and aesthetic of our gallery.
We like to change things up...constantly.
We are committed to constantly exploring new mediums, concepts and styles in an effort to always create or curate a product assortment that excites and delights our customers. We also are focused on creating events centered around the community and creative arts world that educate, entertain and inspire our guests.
